can't tell you how many flies I've rescued from cypress branches - holding the rod under my arm, stretch and grab the branch, pull it down and hold it with the rod arm, flip the knife and cut the branch with the other hand (Carson flipper is GREAT for 1-hand operation) . Also trim my cigar caps on the river with this knife.

but I don't stop there. One fishing bag carries a Spyderco folding fillet knife inside and a Spyderco Native clipped to the pocket. The second fishing bag carries a Benchmade folding fillet knife with a Benchmade Mel Pardue Axis lock clipped to the pocket. (4 oz. too much for the shirt pocket)

BTW, those serrated edges are great for trimming tippet knots

I had a SAK taken out of my checked baggage - I think they liked it. A friend lost an empty DuPont lighter that way, also. (think $500 gold lighter)

that's another reason to fish with the pocket clip folders - they don't fall out on their own.
