The perch was still alive. After the shot I removed the pickerel and the perch swam away with only a few battle scars. The pickerel was DOA

Got out locally and got into some crappie averaging the size of this one

Excellent photo on the perch and Pickerel.. nice Crappie... they are fun on a fly rod

Wow talk about being a glutton. Great photo and nice you saved that perch from certain death. What is that fly in the first picture. Looks interesting.

Jeff, the fly was a Kentucky Wonder Slider. One I had made for the NEF swap. I was also using a muddler minnow and a perch streamer looking for bass.

Thanks for the info! If I ever get to sitting down and doing some more deer hair flies I might try tying one. Looks like a great LMB bass fly. Nice crappie too by the way. Keep the reports coming! |

crazy pike are always hungry. I remember pulling in a ten pounder had an 18" pike sticking out of its mouth. That crappie is a beauty.
