This year, again focusing my fly fishing for Big Trophy sized Large-mouth Bass (6-7 lbs)... Night-time Bass Buggin, (bad for the heart , good for the soul) . After learning a lot from last year's night time Bass Buggin action, I have upgraded my fly fishing arsenal this year with better quality fly line for longer casts, using only Black/Purple/Olive bass bugs (both foam and deer-hair)... got a new camera to take better night time pictures, better head lamp and lighting set up for my kayak, and a digital scale & tape measure... to post my Night time results on this forum... also I've research and selected four-six very promising ponds/lakes with lots of heavy structure in my area that have produced some whoopers sized bass over the last 10-15 years...I plan on fishing these lakes a lot during the day time to really familiarize myself with the topography of the water, so at night, I won't get turned around and be safety minded...

 Lessons learned from last year's night time Fly fishing adventures... fishing at night is like going to Fishing School, you never stop learning

Don't start fishing until after 10 pm or so
Dark/Calm nights are the best night to fish, but every night seem to produce except for rainy nights
Focus on Lilly pads areas and shore line with lots of vegetation structure, I use mostly Deer hair frog  pattern - frogs stay close to this structure for protection
Fish as close to shore as possible...no hits at all in open water fish hug the shore line for ambush and food source
Fish slowly... with lots of gurgle/popping top-water noise....if no hits then speed up your retrieves
Clean shorelines and docks with no structure were uneventful waste of time
Moon patterns didn't seem to have a effect on fish activity...darker the better
Use Smaller hook sizes  on your bass bugs, use #1 vs 1/0 or 2/0 seem much better in the hook up rate.
Much better luck with fly hookup rate without weed guards, lost several good fish with weed-guard flies
Use Rain-X to keep deer hair flies buoyantUse heavy straight leader 17 -20 pounds, less likley to get wind knots and the bass bugs turnover well
