I've been making small landing nets in my shop - this is the latest. The hoop and handle are quarter-sawn sycamore with a mahogany "swoop"
laminated in. I am waiting for the net bags I ordered to arrive and then it'll be done. Tight lines, Alec

Very nice. What type of bag will you be using? I haven't used a landing net in years, but I've seen some innovations, including a soft synthetic bag
that is intended to prevent slime removal and other damage from an abrasive cotton or other fiber mesh. I've also seen a more taut bag that helps keep the
fish and line from getting twisted, potentially hurting the fish.
But, again, that's a nice frame. He ties flies, twists rods, makes landing nets, builds boats... is there anything Alec cannot do? Mike |

Someday I will get myself a landing net for trout fishing. Those trout sure are slippery suckers
