Start your morning out fishing with this view
Thanks to all who attended the June Sam Tisdale Society outing...WOW!... all anyone can say is WOW!!...what a great cadre and fantastic gathering of warm water fly fishing traditionalists....Blue ribbon BBQ, old fashion fly fishing, old rods, flies & reels that displayed, vintage and new style water vessels, old stories, new tales, and fresh ideas of new fishing holes and future fishing trips, rekindling old friendship and meeting new of life long friends, enjoying the tranquility and camping beauty of 11,000 acres in the Myles Standish State Forest; largest of the nine forest reserves in Massachusetts and is the only one in the state's eastern pristine woodland corridor. We had 17 "thebasspond" traditionalist attend this year, with several new attendees... The fishing was fair for the most part to say the least compared to last year,.... but I must admit I take blame for not suggesting that everyone to bring fast sinking line this year... I did fished over several hot spots and fish hits were not as fast and furious as last year but the bluegill bed were much deeper and the big blue gills were there. I found that you had to fish "very slow and low" & put it in front of there nose to get them to take the flies. Last year the fishing was great along the shallow shoreline edges and top-water...this year the trophy pan fish were right on the bottom and very deep 15' plus...I also apologize as I was posting a dozen or so pictures on photobucket... they got corrupted and dumped...I couldnt retreive them...sorry
