I noticed you are a fan of the auto-reels. Never tried one, but you have peaked my interest. Might pick up one to try out...

These reels DO NOT have a big heavy spring inside them. they are lighter and better than the old automatic reels. The semi automatics have adjustable drags
and interchangeable spools.

The Vivarellis are like any other top of the line reel as far as cost but they have life time warranties. The trout reel is made of carbon fiber and i
dropped it twice and each time it was repaired no cost. another time a carp wrecked the carbon fiber reel. they, Vivarelli, repaired it . Cost: $259.00 and
it ill take up to #7 WF line & drag is adjustable. The Newstar (gold) is suitable for saltwater fishing and holds up to #9 WF line. I use this reel for
carp, pike & stripers. Cost: $725.00. The other semi auto matic reel is the ATP37(silver). it is similar to the Newstar, it is precision machined from
anticordial aluminum bar & comes with an extra spool and a leather case. Cost: $600.00 will hold #8 WF line. The ATP comes in an all graphite model which
is affordable at $150.00 and can be purchased on ebay, Italy. The ATP have no warranty. There are other semi automatic reels out there but these are
available to the American market. Dan Bailey sells the Franco Vivarelli reels.

Hi Bill;
Have you ever tried the Pachner & Koller Re-treev-it reels? http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Pachner-Koller-Re-Treev-It-Fly-Reel_W0QQitemZ370225375492QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item563326e904&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 If so, how does it compare to the Vivarellis?
