ok, I had some left over Christmas money that I was putting towards fishing. I bought a smart little 3 wt rod and was hoping to buy a few reels. I have a few
empty rods and wanted to pair each up with something that had a little character. Anyways, I believe I have the worst luck ever. I bought a couple reels from
two individuals on Ebay. I put in my time and waited to bid on reels I appreciated and from individuals that had good feedback. I think I have just learned
another lesson. One seller has "misplaced" the reel; after I have already paid. The other is too long a story. I would like to buy a reel from a
reputable individual and there is no immediate need. I am willing to wait for something I like in the medium price range. I was offered a Highland Mills reel,
but decided against it, plus I had to rewire the pickup. Also, I think like a fish. Something needs to catch my eye before I bight. Who do you suggest? I know
that Bulldog1935 sells reels and has a very good reputation around here. Also, I think he might reside near me and I would love to meet another person in the
Hill Country. I live in Lakeway, just below Mansfield Damn. I have not found another individual that appreciated reels more and actually fishes them. If there
are other resources for older, clean, serviced reels, I would love to know. Thank you, Darrell

Darrell I think you are on the right track and should at least contact Bulldog and let him know you are in the market and what your price range is. You will
get a well tuned reel that you can be sure about without the hassel. You can also watch Clarks (the classic flyrod forum http://clarksclassicflyrodforum.yuku.com/
) board as there are a lot of nice reels listed there too. I have bought a few nice reels from their members and have been happy. The only down fall is they have some high end stuff so you have to exercise restraint  .
Personally I like the vintage Youngs and Pflugers.

Darrell; I have a bunch of reels I would sell;none the quality of Bulldog; I am from Texas also and i guarantee satisfaction ; its pure hobby for me; dont know
