I have been fishing for bass for over fifty years. Largemouth Bass
is one of my favorite fish. As a fly tyer, I am constantly thinking of new designs and patterns. I like the see the surface strike. I have tied mouse, frog,
blackbird, bluejays, dragon flies etc. I think if one is serious about fishing for big bass you must fish with something that will bring a strike. At three in
the morning I thought of this pattern. Here it is Armand's Snake Fly/bug a full 7 inches long. We are blessed to have Largemouths built with their eyes
looking upward with big bellies. I had a chance to fish this snake for an hour before the wind picked up and started to rain. I also caught little bass, at a
vicious strike but never connected. The deer body hair is left full making it weedless. I'm getting old and I find myself casting without accuracy. The bug
lands in the trees, on land, in shore brush - it's nice, not to get hung up.
