Hoooweee... not sure what's up, maybe due to all the rain we've had this summer, but I got out on Grove Pond this morning and the muck and goo along
the shoreline was thicker than I've ever seen it, and it stank like an open latrine. There were huge clouds of alge, looking like massive frog-egg
clusters everywhere, and green scum along big areas of shallower water. I don't mind the weeds, but the stink was pretty disturbing.
Once I launched out and paddled beyond the odor, it was a nice morning. Saw some big GBHs, a couple muskrat, a hawk, red winged blackbirds, and a ton of damselflies. The ornery beaver only slapped his tail at me once, and I even managed to pull a few bass over the gunwale.
That said, I need to find another nearby fishing option until that smell goes away.
