Thanks to all who attended the June STS gathering, what an OUTSTANDING time, first class get together ....It was absolutely great to meet old friends and meet some new pals who we have been emailing for awhile, pleasure to meet everyone. Caddis and family, Jeffsod missed out on my photo shots, but it was great to have them join us. This was a great June attendance, wonderful fellowship, beautiful scenery of Myles Standish State Forest, food was awesome, fish stories & tall tales were hilarious and the Fly fishing was down right superb! What a great view to wake up every morning and start yourfishing day with this view...
Gillbuster camp was comfortable and for $12.00 a day the price was right, no bugs, nice breeze at night, quiet
and clean, never have slept so good...

Here is the September STS cup which will be up for grab this September for the best BBQ... I think Mrs Flytackle should have taken it home this past
weekend...the Chili and cornbread she prepared was out of the world... I think I gained 10 pounds
Here is the famous "Sunny" the Ritz on wheels, Flytackle's traveling fishing home away from home with all the amenities...
What a great camping set up...Max and Alec were living in "high cotton" for sure...
"Hush, Hush Honey Hole Pond" is known for BIG bluegills....These were the biggest, baddest bluegills that we have ever encountered... most of them
would have been awarded state "Pin Fish" by Massachusttes Wildlife standards. Some of the bull bluegills were so old, they had whiskers....they were
10-11" and all of a pound each...They were personal best panfish caught by many of the STS gang this weekend for size and fighting ability. These fish hit
like absolute freight trains. As Armand stated, if these Gills grew to 10 pounds, no one would dare go into the water!! I was catching them on Razorback
Muddler Minnow, Sparrow, Rizenkoff, & Halloween from the fly swap. Great flies guys...Other folks were catching them on nymphs. Sinking line was the
ticket...

Pickerel put a mighty bend in many STS folk's fly rod, some real healthy specimen were taken...
We were also blessed with some nice LMB during our weekend adventure...this one was caught at dusk and went
over 3 lbs and 18+ inches long

Now the surprize of the whole weekend trip were the ENORMOUS CRAPPIE going over 17" long and over 2 lbs ... Alec hung into several monsters on a yellow
vintage flies on the last day and about pulled him out of the canoe...these fish were like some thing out of the Amazon River...One slammed him right at the
boat as we watched it hit it in clear water...I about soiled my breaches....Way to go Alec!!!

Armand (B52) had all he could handle with these fish were dragging him all around the canoe... he had a neat set up and stealth approach

Spinney and John were hammering the fish all day long, both top water and deep...He tagged a huge 17 "crappie also, on a popper none the less.. Nice to
make the new aquantance of John, he's quit a fishermen... I think his shoulder was wore out by the end of the day...
Great to meet DTaylor and Mike.... they were a dynamic float tubing tag team and tearing up the shorelines...Mike had several smallies and other fish to his
credit and covered a lot of water...
DTaylor was not letting any stones or weed unturned as he fished the shoreline thoroughly
Max and Alec were the one/two punch to outwit those crafty fish... Max said "Mr Fish, you can run.. but you can't hide"
It was Max's best fishing trip ever... I can second that!
MAX (Goldie) caught several huge monster crappie on the what else... the amazing Goldie!
The icing on the cake for the June gathering was the camping and food...Flytackle has it down to a fine science,
nothing goes unchecked and all needs are met when you are camping along side Alec...it is a absolute great time

After fishing a long day with a good tired feeling.... We slept like the dead
Alec wanting "just one more fish" on a cork poppers....at dusk the fish were hitting top water all over pond
What an outstanding weekend...Alec suggested we do this again next June, maybe try to fish Billington Sea or Johns
Pond in Carver which is 15 minutes away from the camp. See if we can get more campers for next year. I agree, this is a great gathering idea. We would use
Myles Standish State Forest as a base camp and travel from there. It is open for suggestions... As we pulled our campers away from these beautiful campsites,
we have to thank Sam Tisdale for his contribution and to Mother Nature for all her glory... The Bass Pond group will definitely come back again to try their
hand at flyfishing for all of its bounty...
Here is nice view to remember the spectacular "Hush, Hush, Honey Hole Pond" and all her beauty...Thanks guys... for sharing a fabulous Fly fishing
weekend....
Until next time.... see you on the water
Tight lines
Gillbuster

Thanks for a great gathering pal - Alec
