My biggest thrill was becoming a better carp catcher with a fly rod. Getting to use a Hobie on Jamaica Bay in NY. Catching a big striper on a flat wing fly at midnight. Buying the march brown 9', 7pc. 2 wt, fly rod; a rod that fits in my fanny pack and can go anywhere. If you get a chance, try it at the Fly Fishing show this winter. Bill

I hooked this largemouth bass twice in 2009, using a newly-acquired PHY Para 17 built in 1956 with a permanent 2" extension butt. Landed the bass on the
first try, but she threw the hook a couple of weeks later (a big Dark Edson Tiger was the fly on both occasions). The goal for 2010: catch a striped bass on
this rod.
Quashnet's Paul H. Young Rod Database has photos and descriptions of over 530 PHY Co. rods, plus catalogs, accessories,
etc. Thank you to all who continue to send me PHY rod photos and info.

Looking back had some great 2009 adventures, Catching Bass at night with Flyttackle and Goldie, Float tubing with Jeffsod for Samllies, Great BBQ at the June
& Sept STS outing, Panfishing with spinner flies, Topwater fishing with B52 and watching him slay the pickerel, & fishing on the Darkside catching my
PB bass on Taps frog... Life just doesn't get better..

My fondest memory of 2009 will come in 10 days when the year is behind me and I've got a new one to look forward to. Man, this year really stunk for me.

Gillbuster I just went through your photogallery, and what an awesome year!1 thanks for sharing!! I had some great memories and not so great memories this
year. From my first striper caught on a fly with the Bass Pond crew down on Sandwich harbor. but one thing i have to ask... is Who's SWEEET Yellow Trailer
is that in the camping photo? May I ask what kind etc? That thing is awesome and seems to be the perfect size for a mini camping trip!!!!!
