FYI, for anyone who is coming, please plan accordingly. That is the weekend of the Brimfield Fair, one of the largest East Coast antique extravaganzas and a
HUGE draw from all over the Northeast. I suggest an earlier than usual starting time as all roads leading to Brimfield will be filled with folks headed to
that town.
That said, for anyone interested, you can always find some great deals on old fly gear. Cane & glass rods, old reels, interesting tackle. Just sayin'. But I think it's a good choice. Easy access via the Mass Pike, and it's one of those pieces of water that, if you've ever seen it (just to the south of the Pike), you've thought to yourself, "That's one good looking piece of water." Whoa - Yikes - I should've checked that out first- the crowds that go to Brimfield are HUGE and I've seen the pike backed up for miles
Well - we'll make it!

Just wondering if this outing is something I can come to and fish with the STS knights. I am new to this forum and would enjow meeting and fishing with all of
you. Very few people persue the bass on the fly these days and I am new to this. Please let me know if I can attend.
I have 2 kayaks and can bring the extra one if needed. Both are sit in calm water kayaks. Alan |

These guys are serious cooks and have huge appetites. They also hurt fish. The fish have no room to hide. Only kidding about the fish. Serious about eating.
Great bunch of fishermen. Guarantee you will have a good time. B52 bugger

Knights of the STS Round Table,
After a discussion with several members, the Bass Pond is moving the date of the annual September Sam Tisdale Gathering back one week due to not to conflict with the huge Brimfield Flea Market crowd.and driving traffic. The date will now be Saturday, SEPTEMBER 19, 2009, so please mark your calendar. East Brimfield Reservior is a pretty piece of water with lots of potential for: panfish, Small and LM bass, pickerel, trout, perch and Northern Pike...several Massachusetts Pin fish have come from this lake. A report of a 19 lbs 7 oz Pike came from these waters 3 years ago. I would bring sink tip, sinking line as well as floating line and try a variety of fishing techniques...it has some good looking lilly pads area as well as some nice drop offs for deep water. The September Sam Tisdale Society BBQ feast is a time honored event, in which "Blue ribbons BBQ recipes" are brought out and shared with the group... we have had CNN, ESPN, ABC, Wide World of Sports, the late Howard Cosell and Emilio broadcast this event in the past, this year because of the economy, unfortunately we are not sponsored, .....so it is up to you, to bring your pride and joy BBQ recipe and show the spirit of good cooking, eating, and fellowship.... A vote will be taken by all STS members for the best chow and STS trophy is at stake to be handed out...Honor, reputation, distinction are on the line.... .
So far we have : Flytackle - bringing the "USS Duckbucket" Albcorb - bringing kayaks Gillbuster - bringing a floattube and Kayak & last years STS trophy Spnzo - ? Tom - the "Barge"

99% sure I'll be there - would love to try out a float tube if possible. (as long as there's none of those "bad boy" snapping turtles in that
water)

Though unconfirmed, if I'm able to go I'll be bringing my canoe. Eighteen feet, and fairly narrow beam, it rides low in the water but I haven't
dumped it yet. Might pack my tube in case it's windy, though.

Doesn't sound like good judgement. I hear trout are too tame. You'll be missing out on good food, good fishing, real honest good fishermen.
Just teasing. AJ |

Think I'm gonna leave the BBQ competition up to the veteran pros. I'll bring along some deserts.

As best as I can tell about anything 3 weeks in advance, count me in. I love to see grown men compete (hard) for "bake-off" trophies!!!

Gaaa... change of plans, guys. Because of the date change, I completely forgot that I have a previous commitment on September 19th. A good friend of mine is
battling with cancer and my church is holding an all-day concert for him that I agreed to emcee. As much as I love the food and fishing, I'm not going to
miss this event (nor would I even if I weren't part of it). Hope you can understand.
