Hi everybody, I,m 13 years old and love to flyfish for river smallies. I live in Batavia,IL right next to the fox river so I can go almost everyday on my bike. I have an Orvis StreamLine 9 ft. 6wt. with a Bass Pro Hobbs Creek reel filled with Cortland 444 line (soon to be Rio Clouser). Well just saying hi.

Shoot Coop, my truck's older than that.
Welcome bb8. I used to say I wouldn't want to be your age unless I could know what I know now. As I get older I've decided I'd be just dumb enough to do it all over again. Stay on those smallies..g |

Hi Bubble!
Glad to meet another flyrodder. Those Hobbs Creek reels are cool...I've got a 4wt and an 8wt! Both of those reels ride on Hobbe Creek rods...and wear Hobbs Creek lines! |

bb8,
Great to have you aboard, Nice to have a young man's view to the world of flyfishing. I remember when I was your age and fishing was one of the most important things on my mind, next to food. Keep us posted on on your summer adventures and what your catching them on. Tight lines John |

John, I remember at my age that fishing is one of the most important things on my mind. I suspect, for good or ill, it always will be.

Welcome.I remember at your age and almost exactly this date but some 58 years ago,I was standing in a creek just a short distance west of Manteno flyfishing. I
was using a Granger Aristocrat(I had bought that spring),a silk DT HDHline(from Sweden)and on my line was a Silver Doctor dry. With my sister and brother-in-
law watching(both now deceased) I caught 22 smallmouth out of a riffle about 25 yards west of the bridge.I surely hope you have such luck up there on the Fox.
