Awesome picture, it is great to look back in time....Armand , amazingly you haven't changed at all, just a little more gray around the muzzle... must be all that good living, chasing those green fish, keeps you young...wouldn't you love to still have that 1934 Plymouth Sedan, and Old Town 17 ft Sponson made of canvas and wood....... Is it that there are more fishermen today, pressure on the bass, they don't get to live to an old age... we don't see 9-10 pound bass as much these days... lots of 4-5's...Life in the 60's was innocent back then, TV with only 4 channels, movies theater with a Sat matinee and week long movie, no drive thru McDonald, gas at 30 cent a gallon., kids would ride their bicycles all over town from Dawn to dusk with friends..a lot more slower paced then and people were much more appreciative and closer of their friend./families bonds... I bet that fish was the talk of the town among your fishing friends and family...Huge BASS could put your fist in it's mouth easily... Great memories..thanks for sharing |

That year I got a bronze pin from Field & Stream, for the fish. I was very proud to wear it That winter I was shopping at Kerr Mill in Fall River and
noticed a guy wearing a Field & Stream Pin. I said how big was your bass and what did you take him on.
He started to laugh. He said he was in Summer Street pool on the Palmer River, in Rehoboth, Ma fishing for trout with a #12 Royal Coachman dry fly, the fish took the fly. he doubted that he could land the fish. It was a nine pound, fourteen oz. Largemouth bass. I became very silent. WOW I guess it was the year for big fish. |
