Just spoke with Scott at the Bearsden Fly Shop, he just reserved the Holiday Inn in Taunton for annual Bearsden Fly Fishing Show, Saturday, February 28, 2009. I signed "The Bass Pond" up for a table to show off our STS group and am willing to set up another display table again. Last year, we had very favorable comments on The Bass Pond group. The vintage flies that Alec displayed and tied were a big hit. There was a lot of interest, talk & was only a couple warm-water tables other than Armand's awesome United Fly Tyers Bass Bugs display. Mark your Fly Fishing calendar and will be looking for STS folks to attend, participate next Feb.

Thanks for the heads up John I guess Scott decided to carry on with the show another year. There was talk of last year being the last one.

Master Guide

I'm glad we're not a club, because I'd get thrown out. Will be in Fla for all of Feb - going to a "Fish Camp" and two weeks in March - in Marco Island. I have always enjoyed the Bear's Den Show; however, if you are at the MarlboroShow in Jan, please stop by the FFF Booth and I hope to see you there. Also have planned family vacation in early June, so will not make STS outing. However, I've asked for some consideration be given to a fall outing where we fish a larger lake with a boat ramp for "The Barge". Am planning to do an article on "thebasspond" & The STS for the December issue of "Backcasts" the Northeastern Council of FFF.

I wrote on another tread about your nice work on Backcasts. I will be at the Marlboro Show for sure. I think we have a good place for the September trip and the "Barge" will be a perfect set up.. See you soon

I stopped by the Bears Den today to pick up a few tieing items. MAN, Scott has that place stocked to the gills!! Seems like he's got twice the inventory (and help) as my last visit last summer/fall. What a great shop!

Here is the announcement for the Bears Den Fly Fishing Expo this Saturday, 28 Feb 2009 in Taunton, MA. Scott, owner of Bear's Den was thrilled to have our group attend his show again this year; we were a big hit last year. It was good marketing for the Bear's Den and great exposure for our group. As you can see from the link, there is a lot of focus on Salt Water Fly Fishing, which is great because we will be one of the few tables focused on Warm Water Fly Fishing. The direction to the show is on the link below, it is from 11 am - 7 pm. Alec (Fly tackle) will be tying his classic Bass Flies (they are beauties) and I will be tying some kind of bass bug of some sort... We will be there all day. Come by and visit if you can, spend time with some old fishing pals, bring your friends and family, chew the fat, come and tie some flies if you would like, if you don't know how, no problem... we will teach you...there will be plenty of material to tie with... Come see the 2009 fly swap flies and slide show pictures... The Bear's Dens show is a first class Fly Fishing exhibition, one of the best fly fishing raffles in the country...lots of good all around fly fishing information and great guest speakers...

I would like to introduce myself as a new member to this group .My name is Mike D. (Bamboo) I met John (Gillbuster) yesterday at the Bears Den show & he told Me all about "the Bass Pond" . This looks like a good fit for Me. I live in the area & like to fish all kinds of water. We are very lucky to have all the ponds that we have.Great stuff.

Glad to meet you at the Bear's Den show. Wasn't that a outstanding event....As I stated earlier, we are just a bunch of fun loving warm water fishermen who like to fly fish, chew the fat, share flies and strategies, and get together for fishing trips. We fish for anything from Bluegill to Pickerel, so just jump in, pull up a chair and chat about anything on anything fly fishing you want and folks will respond, share ideas and have fun with the forum... Hope we can get together this coming spring Summer fall and cast a line... plenty of places to fish just no enough time to fish them...
