Cabelas Fly Box System (click for info)
I got the large size which comes with four large size boxes. I bought two medium boxes as well; one for each side pocket. The two medium boxes in the side
pockets are panfish flies - topwater in one, wet in the other. The four main boxes are: 1) Bass Topwater, 2) Bass Wet, 3) Spinner/Fly Combos, and 4) Classic
Bass Flies. I wrote each box designation on the side of the boxes with a black Sharpie.
I sat down today to organize all my flies in their proper boxes. Now I know what I need for the coming season. After I get the BP Swap flies finished I'm
gonna start in on the flies I need to tie this winter for next season. They are:
Topwater: Jetbug, Taps Bug, Heddon Style Popper, Foam Popper.
Wet Flies: Goldie, Andro Crayfish, Conehead Rabbit Strip Jig fly, Spinner/Hackle fly Combo, Spinner/Pork "Fly Strip" rig, Panfish Wiggle Tail,
HumBug.
Classic: Wyanoke, Jockey Cove, Weber "Golden Spinner" Series, Bloody Sally.
I also need to tie some more leaders, especially panfish leaders with a dropper. I have a Steffen 2/3 weight blank I have to twist up for Gerbubble Bug, a cane
rod restoration to finish for Spinzo and an eight weight blank to twist up for myself.
That's the Master Fly Plan for late winter '09.
C'mon Spring!!
Alec
