I'll put it on the christmass list Jon.
I have to agree, the WB , or some variation of, is THE go to fly for me ( and most folks I fish with). It's accounted for my largest Bass to date and likely "most fish" top honers as well. If I had to feed myself on one fly, it would be a #10 black WB without doubt. BTW, been tying up a new variant that caught my eye in ( Spring 06) Eastern Fly Fishing magazine. It's called a Murry's road Kill Nymph. It's tied with the body of a large WB but adds a bunny tail, lead eyes and a few rubber legs tossed in. LOOKS incredable! Here's a link to the pattern if anybody is interested. http://www.flytyingforum....lient=choose&f=23&t=24349 |

I have a copy of that book & actually have a few flies listed in it. Gary did a great job on it. I was also amazed at the variety of flies that could be
tied in that style, some I hadn't even considered until I read the book. Funny how something so simple can work so well! I tie another variation that has an Estaz body, rabbit strip tail & a rabbit fur collar, with either lead or bead chain eyes. Great Crappie or Perch fly tied on a #4 or 6 hook.
