One of the first things we saw upon arrival were a very large set of deer tracks on the beach. Then out on the pond I noticed a group of ducks and upon watching for a moment realized I just had my first Bufflehead siting of the season. These are artic ducks that migrate to the waters of SE MA to winter over and are fun to watch as they act like the ducks at a carnival shooting range. Half will disappear and just when they reappear on top the others disappear. Couldn't get too close to get a good photo. Apparently they are a little camera shy .

The weather really could not have been nicer for the first week in November. It was a stellar day and as was said several times throughout the day it doesn't get any better.
