Early Weather report for Saturday looks like cool, sunny and breezy...a northwind... the weather has been great all week, go figure....there are some coves to get on the lee side of Glen Charlie pond to shelter the wind some...for safety reasons, if you have one, I would bring an anchor or brick on a rope for canoeist so you don't get blown all over the lake...Weather report from Boston.com

Friday Night...Mostly cloudy in the evening...then clearing. Lows in the upper 40s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Saturday...Sunny. Cooler with highs in the lower 60s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

The list gets better... word must be out for the Great Fishing/Blue ribbon BBQ outing... anyone has a camera please bring it for pictures....I have mine but it is not the best ... So far the weather outlook is favorable...

I will bring 2 tables and camp stove for the BBQ. Do we have anyone who needs watercraft or cooking supplies for Saturday. There is limited wading available and some sortof water vessel is needed. let me know to see if we need to make some equipment arrangements...looking forward to seeing everyone

I am planning to go to the new location. Plan on bringing my kayak. Any problem there? Tough group to compete with for blue ribbons, but I'll try.

The Bassing of New Hampshire tells the tale of Tisdale and the spread of black bass throughout New Hampshire and New England. It's a pretty good read for anyone who is interested in the subject. As many of you already know. TheBassPond.com was established in honor of Sam Tisdale. He was an avid outdoor fly fisherman and pioneer industralist who secretly brought the Black Bass into Massachusetts in 1851. He resided in East Wareham, Mass, traveled to the South in 1850, some records say it was from NY state, and was introduced to the enormously sporting game fish called the Black Bass. Sam Tisdale transported fingerling black bass back to East Wareham, MA and put them in his private pond. Because of Sam's passion for fly fishing for sporting warm water game fish, the LM bass population expanded from his private Wareham ponds to throughout New England lakes and ponds in the following years. The Black Bass prior to this date were not native in New England. We are fly fishing close to Sam Tisdales's local waters and hope to catch some large mouth Bass and healthy size panfish. Looks like a good Bass Pond Outing is starting to develop; contacted the Newenglandfishing.net forum and put an invite out... looks like some flyfisherman have some interest to joining in the event... hope to get into the Fall feeding frenzy before the water turns over. here is the possible headcount..

Outstanding! I sampled some of Angelo's cooking in June .... WOW! thats some good culinary skills I will tell ya... STS trophy for best chow is now in serious competition...Does cousin Angelo and Michael have a any type of watercraft to fish from? There is some shore line but not very much...a canoe, float tube or car-topper would provide much better. If not, we can see about getting an extra watercraft for them as need be

Friendly reminder of the change of fishing location for the STS September gathering from East Brimfield Reservior to Glen Charlie Pond in Wareham, MA. A great location to have a beach style BBQ, share some fellowship and put some warm water fly fishing pictures on the website

Hi Gents, Sorry for the late response but I've been away from the site for a while. I should be able to make wareham on the 19th but won't get there till mid morning. I'll likely bring a yak/ultimate 12 but who knows, maybe a jon boat/canoe if I feel like stretching out. No idea on my food contribution yet but I'll give it some thought.

I have family commitments that would prevent me from definetly saying yes but there is a chance I could participate if it were at Glen Charlie. No way if it were in Brimfield. Will confirm once I know better.

Since the September STS attendance is smaller than we expected, I wish to change the fishing location if it doesn't upset anyone to a place that has a proved good fishing prospect and where Sam Tisdale himself, possibly may have fished. I want to propose Glen Charlie Pond in Wareham, Mass.
