It just came to me that not much mention has been made on this web site on the subject of time on the water. Knowing Alec, I appreciate how much time he puts
on the water, always experimenting with new ideas and angles to fly fishing. I can remember my early days of reading everything I could find about fly fishing
for stripers and author Lou Tabory's emphasis of the importance of spending time on the water. It's not the idea that anyone who fishes a lot will
eventually catch a large fish or that seeing that fish live in water, that's a good place to catch them. The idea is the accumulation of first hand
knowledge, being aware of your surroundings, and trying new approaches to fishing - night fishing, huge "Chicken" flys, etc.
That's my story & I'm sticking ti it.

Don't get carried away fellas - the only thing I can master is sleep. Sure was pleased to tie into this bass though - and Michael caught one that was just
as big. John I'll post a picture of the Chicken Fly later this week - Alec

I definitely agree.... that's a HAWG!!! I gladly relinquish the title, "Master Bugger" to Alec.... that is going to be hard to match....I will
assume the title, "Little Bugger".... I would say that Bass would definitely qualify for a Mass Pin Fish... Imagine what she would have weighed early
spring full of eggs???? but, I am glad to see she's healthy, is swimming/alive to fight again... Cape Cod is a great fishery, I am amazed at the fish that
come from these waters...Alec, post a picture of a Chicken Fly, I am interested to see what it looks like... I bow to Master Alec...

Armed with my Wonderglass fly rod, the quest continues, fishing on the Dark Side...
