Hey Flytackle I'm back sense being off since you went off line way back when.Anyway I have several Fenwick(and a spinning rod also)7ft5wgt,it is an old glass rod(60's)still being used both the fly rod and the spinning rod,also have Eagle 7wgt graphite and 2HMG's one is a 8wgt,81/2ftand the other is a 9ft,6wgt.Good to know your still around and still tying those beautiful old bass flies.Gerald(the Man not the female!).

Just purchased a Fenwick 9' - 7 wt from Cabela's. The price is $99.99 & I was amazed at the quality and performance of this rod. I like it because it casts an 8 wt Bass Taper with ease & accuracy with a very wind resistant size 6 fly on it. I also like the fact that the reel seat does not have a fighting butt (until you get up to the 8 weights). I have always like the Fenwick handle. Those of you who know me as a bit of a tackle snob & find me always armed with the latest Sage rods. I have to admit; however, this is a keeper.
The best part is that it's made in the USA.
Give them a try.
