This was my first time out onthe cape this year and it turned out to be a great day. Caught a decent largemouth on a goldie and two beautiful smallies, one of
which as a personal best ona fly rod at 21 inches. Both smallies were caught on a modified Barr's meat whistle ( I use an Estaz body for more bulk instead
of the bodi braid and a rabbit collar instead of marabou.) that I very slowly dragged down some submerged logs. They fought hard, the largest took almost
twenty minutes to land...

twenty minutes to land and gave me my first cape code sleigh ride on the season. At one point It swam between my legs and I thought it was going to flip my
belly boat. The other jumped at least 7 times before I could finally get it in. I actually had to grab my leader and throw my rod into the pond to land it...

All and all a great day until the wind picked up and I had to get off the water.
