I have fished Watson in a belly boat a couple of times since I don not live too far from there... good Crappie and perch pond... haven't had too much luck
with the bass tho, mostly 1 pounders...looks real bassy, it is on my "to fish" list this year again..and may night fish it for grins...Thinking about
throwing Watson Pond in the suggestion ring for next Sept gathering. good canoe waters, clean water, easy access, nice place to have our feast...Also Tispaquin
pond in Middleboro or Glen Charlie in Wareham... I have not tried Three mile River...JeffSod has fished it and has high marks for its fishery...problem as you
stated.... too many places to fish, not enough time to fish them

Hey Gillbuster,
Is there a pond you haven't fished???? Since you live in Taunton, you should check out Watson Pond in Taunton. Big bass and big turtles - don't fish
from belly boat. Another place but I don't know if you can get in. Behind the old Raytheon Plant in Dighton. I forget I think it's call Three Mile
River.

I have tried to make the Messenger Frog several times. Legs always comes out like crap. I still think frogs are the way to go around structure and pads. 2 best
days I had with frogs was Charles River in Needham and A-1 stump pond in Westboro. Love froggin when the conditions are right... Want to try our Rehoboth
Resevior this year with frogs and night fishing, heard stories of 2 pound yellow perch and very healthy bass 5+ pound from a used car dealer on Rt 44 who has
fished there from many years...

In Fall River, MA around 1955, there were three sporting good stores, only one carried fly tying materials (all on one turn style). The only deer body hair was
blue and orange. So my first bugs were tied with blue and orange. I painted the belly of the bugs with white model airplane paint. When I met Al Brewster and
showed my bugs he laughed. He told me never paint deer hair. I didn't have access to different colors. That season I caught a four pound Largemouth. I
realized the bass was interested in eating and wasn't interested in color it didn't matter.

The yellow bug with bucktail legs was a favorite of my friend, Gerry Klein who won 1st place in Field and Stream for bass on the fly. He used impali (calf)
tail instead of bucktail. The only color I never used was black - because I didn't believe in it.
