I thought next month I might write my column in English for a change. The title was supposed to be "Gas-trip-upset".
Next month - Lake Winnipesaukee. The American Museum of Fly Fishing is having a Fly Fishing Festival - August 16th and The Northeastern Council of FFF will have a booth there. I'm pretty sure that Orvis is doing something as well. Come on over, be great to see you. Check out www.necfff.com - great stuff is going on we've launched two major activities called "First Fly" and "First Cast" in addition to signing an agreement with the scouts to be the go to people for all scouting activities that include fly fishing. Hey - take a kid fishing - that does not include "Flytackle" our beloved colleague.
Finally got to do some Bluegill Fishing and caught the largest...

Tom is preaching to the choir. I have tried to promote local fly fishing for several years. even with today's gas prices you can find world class fly fishing, for less than $100.00 worth of gas round trip, near your home. In metropolitan areas, public transportation cost is less than a gallon of gas and will take you to outstanding fishing. Fly fish local.

Tom wrote a good article FFF last month that I thought was worth sharing...

What I wanted to talk about obviously as we go though May and get into June, everything is going to be at its best, so no fishing reports. What is really on our minds is thinking about is how to get the best fishing for our gas dollar. We are so lucky to be in The NEC area for this is a great part of the country for a variety of fishing opportunities. The State of Maine remains a bit of a mystery to me. I wish I had made more than a few trips there for I feel this state may have the best fishing of any state in the council area. Apologies to my friends in Canada. The Belgrade, Rangely Lakes area have provides much excitement in catching Landlocked...
