My fishing buddy Dennis and I spent 12 hours fishing for carp on friday.  the highlight was Dennis catching this Koi we have been after for two weeks .  I believe it is the only one in the pond.

I bought one of those cheap fiberglass fly rods on e bay awhile ago.  what a bargain.  this rod helped me land this brute of a carp.  the rod is a 4/5 wt, 7'6", 3pc gem. great slow flex.  we fought for over 30 minutes and yes i saw my backing!

So I came across a recommendation for an old book called "Taking Larger Trout" by Lawrence R. Koller. This book has a whole chapter dedicated to fly fishing for trout at night. Well I just received my copy and have to say it is a very fine book. It is well written and contains a lot of timeless information. It was written or published in 1950 and reprinted in 1952. Seems that Ray Bergmans book 'Trout' from that period garners most of the attention but this is also a very worthy book to consider if you enjoy collecting or reading old fishing books.
